How Do I Take This Challenge?
- Note: This is intended as a learning experience.
- Note: Stimulation addiction is endemic in our modern screen obsessed culture.
- Note: To the above, most will say, what addiciton? To that I say, experiment with stopping. If you find you can't even after deciding that stopping does benifits you greately and not doing so is a detriment, you have learnt you have an addiciton.
- Abstain from any form of artificial arousal. This includes the imagination if it is being used as fantasy.
- 5. Awareness, awareness, awareness. Direct gentle attention to changes that may occur. Maintain this awareness.
- Reframe masturbation. Masturbation, with the reality of real sex in mind, does not break the challenge. There's a few reasons for this; Many sex addicts feel that sex is a performance and get anxious about real relationships, ironically keeping them from real, fully experienced, or satisfying sex. Although learning through real relaitionships that sex is about emotions, presence and feeling real connections is the only way to resolve any underlying grievances, if you view sex as a performance practicing your sex game with ol' righty can give you reassurance in your rhythem, how long you last and maintaining an erection.
- If you masturbate, do so while practicing correct breathing (deep), grounded in the reality of having sex. Arousal addiction, aka sex/porn addiciton can often stifle this natural reflex to breath deeply and can be a cause of erectile dysfunction. Breathing deeply can aid in "getting into your body", and feeling the moment.
- Any reality-grounding activities that promote awareness will be a great support to you in this challenge. Unconcious decision making may reign down on you if you endulge in activities that promote a daze like awareness.
- Learn the game (approach women). Approaching women and building relationships is very important for guys doing this challenge. Complete abstinance from sex/masturbation or any other creative expression is not something I believe to be possible in a healthy way, and should not be promoted as it is with drugs and alchahol, as sexual energy is a natural drive and it's suppression often produces neurotic behaviour. This is an important difference to take in when approaching activity based addictions and substance based addicitons.
- Read/learn as little or as much as you want on the effects of stopping use of sexual stimulants.
- Note: All addiction involves a retreat into fantasy/an escape from reality.
- Note: Despite the difficulty setting, this game is one of the hardest known to man. Many have tried and many a fail. Do not expect this to be easy, expect it to be a learning experience.

Tips
Warning: May be incredibly transformative way too fast for some. You may encounter the upper limit problem, the celing of what you allow yourself to be. Do not judge this energy, just feel it.If you find that (too much) energy has been freed up, there is a simple answer; apply, explore and feel this energy. It is your otherwise imprisoned creative force. Examples of application include forms of writing, exercise, singing, playing instruments, journal entries, ecstatic motion, cold approach, dating, sex, computer programming, jokes, anything that engages your creativity. Examples of exploration include meditation, qigong, reading blogs and books on porn/sex addicition, journals, anything that directs your awareness inwards.
Study recommendations: Books by Alexander Lowen, books on meditation, porn/sex addiction, sexuality, male and female psychology.
